Creative Writing Tutor and Mentor

Creative writing tutor and course creator with over fifteen years' experience.

Mentor and workshop leader for literary festivals and residential courses.

Over the last fifteen years I have taught novel and non-fiction writing and mentored students around the world, both face to face and online, from one to ones to cohorts, residential retreats and live webinars. Tens of thousands of people have taken my writing courses.

For over a decade I taught novel writing for the Faber Academy. I wrote and led a dozen online courses including their Writing A Novel and Work In Progress courses. I worked for Reedsy as Head of Learning for three years, where I created and taught their flagship How To Write A Novel course, as well as other shorter courses. I teach a life writing course for Domestika and have also taught several courses online for the Professional Writing Academy, where I was Director of Fiction.

I have taught numerous face to face courses, as well as leading workshops at universities, literary festivals and writing retreats. Among the many institutions I have taught for are Falmouth University, Southampton University, the National Film and Television School, the Literary Consultancy, Cornerstones Literary Consultancy, Stratford Literary Festival, Salisbury Literary Festival, Mere Literary Festival,  John O’Connor Writing School and Literary Arts Festival, I Am Writing Festival, Winchester Books Festival, Florence Literary Society, Geneva Writers Group and the Casa Ana mentoring retreats in Spain.

A number of my former students have gone on to publication, including prize-winners and bestsellers, and you can find some examples below. I do undertake some private mentoring and consultancy work: if you are interested, please drop me a line to tom.bromley@gmail.com.
